The system of record for the home.
HomeHelp is building the system of record for the home — the structured, longitudinal dataset of what's in a house, what's been done to it, and who did the work.
This page is a plain-English overview of how we think about the business. It intentionally does not include user counts, revenue figures, or forward-looking projections.
The opportunity
- Aging U.S. housing stock and an aging homeowner population create structural demand for coordinated maintenance and safe-at-home services.
- The skilled-trades labor shortage makes matching, scheduling, and pro retention more valuable — not less.
- LLMs are finally cheap enough to make structured extraction from photos, receipts, warranties, and voice interactions economical at the household level.
- Property management software is universally disliked by operators for maintenance, opening a purpose-built wedge.
We haven't published a proprietary TAM figure here. Public housing, remodeling, and home-services market sizes from JCHS, HIRI, and IBISWorld are directionally sufficient for a first conversation.
What we're building
The Home Graph
A structured record of every home we touch: appliances and serials, install dates, system ages, rooms and measurements, warranty docs, service history, and observed local pricing. Every product surface — AI concierge, design studio, calendar, receptionist — writes back to it.
A two-sided project record
Estimate → Agreement → Invoice → Paperwork → Review, edited by homeowner and contractor inside the same app. Nobody owns this chain today. Once we do, switching cost compounds for both sides at the same time.
First-party pro performance data
Response time, completion rate, dispute rate, and re-hire rate measured inside the product — not self-reported. Over time, 'HomeHelp Verified' becomes a signal that lead-gen marketplaces structurally can't replicate.
Why it's defensible
None of these are "AI features." They're structural assets that get harder to replicate the longer we operate — and they compound with each other.
1. The Home Graph
A structured, per-household dataset no incumbent has at this granularity. Powers pricing, preventive care, insurance, and OEM/manufacturer data partnerships downstream.
2. Two-sided project record
The shared Estimate → Agreement → Invoice → Paperwork → Review chain becomes the system of record for both homeowner and contractor at the same time.
3. Verified-Pro performance data
First-party, measured-inside-the-app metrics on pros — the opposite of self-reported directory data.
4. Property manager wedge
One PM relationship seeds tens to hundreds of fully-populated home profiles overnight, plus a tenant-facing app. A purpose-built maintenance layer is a Trojan horse into a category that universally hates its incumbent tooling.
5. Voice → structured data
Every voice, Alexa, or receptionist interaction upserts a typed record (appliance, task, service event) — not just chat history. Hard to clone because it requires workflow integration, not just a model.
6. Regulatory + code intelligence
AI guidance hardened with NEC / IPC / IMC citations, permit-required flags by jurisdiction, and licensed-trade-required signals. Slow, unsexy, defensible — and it de-risks us legally.
7. Insurance + warranty distribution
A structural reason for homeowners to keep their profile current: verified maintenance completed in the app maps to underwriting discounts and parametric warranty coverage.
How we make money
Homeowner subscriptions — tiered plans (Free, HomeHelp+, Premium, Complete) with maintenance planning, AI concierge, design tools, and coordinated services. Public plan detail is on our Pricing page.
Contractor subscriptions — Basic, Verified Pro, Premium, Multi-Location, and Enterprise tiers. Pros pay for verification, distribution, and the FSM-style workflow (CRM, estimates, invoices, agreements) built into their side of the project record.
Property manager channel — per-property or per-unit pricing for PM organizations that use HomeHelp as their maintenance system of record and as a tenant-facing app.
Downstream — over time, we expect data partnerships (insurance, OEMs) and warranty distribution to layer on top of the Home Graph. We're not counting on them for the core business.
Traction
We're intentionally not publishing user, revenue, or growth figures on a public page. What we can say honestly:
- The product is live at homehelp.ai across homeowner, contractor, and property-manager surfaces.
- Native mobile is shipped via Capacitor; voice surfaces (ElevenLabs, Alexa) and an AI receptionist are integrated.
- We have contractor coverage seeded across multiple U.S. markets, with a self-serve claim-and-verify flow for pros.
Under NDA we're happy to share metrics on signups, retention cohorts, verified-pro conversion, PM pipeline, and unit economics.
How we think about competition
Lead-gen marketplaces
e.g. Angi, Thumbtack
We're not a lead-gen marketplace. Matching is a distribution layer over the Home Graph, not the product.
Design & inspiration
e.g. Houzz, Pinterest
Great at discovery, absent from ops. We own scheduling, service history, and the project record end to end.
FSM / contractor SaaS
e.g. ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, Jobber
Deep supply-side workflows, zero consumer demand. We attach on the homeowner side and share the project record with the pro.
Property management SaaS
e.g. AppFolio, Buildium, Latchel
Own the PM buyer relationship but ship a maintenance UX operators openly dislike. Our PM wedge trades on that gap.
Warranty & concierge
e.g. Hippo, Frontdoor
Claims-first experiences. We're maintenance-first, which is a better wedge into recurring revenue.
Big tech surfaces
e.g. Apple, Google, Amazon
We integrate with their voice surfaces rather than fight them. They won't go deep on jurisdictional trade workflows.
Common investor questions
The eight questions we hear most often from early-stage investors, with the same answers we'd give you across a table.
What we're not
- Not a lead-gen marketplace — we don't sell shared leads.
- Not a GPT wrapper — AI writes to a structured Home Graph, or it doesn't ship.
- Not a home warranty — we're maintenance-first, not claims-first.
- Not FSM software — we're the homeowner side that a pro's back office plugs into.
