How the AI Receptionist works
It answers your phone when you can't, asks the questions you'd ask, hands off real emergencies to your cell, and writes every call down as a lead you can act on.
The call, start to finish
1. A call comes in
You either forward your existing office line to HomeHelp or we provision a dedicated local number for your business. Either way, the AI picks up in under three seconds — nights, weekends, holidays.
2. The AI answers in your voice
A natural, human-sounding voice agent greets the caller using your business name and greeting. It knows your trade, your services, your service area, your hours, and your FAQs because you trained it in the dashboard.
3. It qualifies the job
The agent asks the questions you'd ask: what's happening, where, how urgent, and how to reach them. It captures name, phone, address, issue description, and an urgency level.
4. Emergencies get transferred live
If the caller describes an emergency — no heat, active leak, sparking panel — the AI transfers the call straight to your cell instead of taking a message. You set the transfer number and what counts as urgent.
5. Everything is logged as a lead
Each call lands in your contractor dashboard with a transcript, summary, urgency score, and contact details — ready to convert into an estimate or a project.
6. You review and follow up
Call volume, answer rate, captured leads, and after-hours activity roll up into metrics so you can see how much inbound business you were previously losing to voicemail.
It only sounds generic if you leave it generic
Inside your contractor dashboard there's a Training tab. Everything you put there is injected into the agent at the start of every call, so it answers like someone who actually works at your company — not a call center script.
